Mental Health Awareness

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we would like to highlight an Issue paper that we shared last year by Ailbhe O’Loughlin looking at “Mental Disorder, Disability and Sentencing” which you may find of interest along with a literary review that we conducted for the Scottish Sentencing Council examining the issue of sentencing offenders with mental disorders. Links to the reports are as follows: Mental Disorder, Disability and Sentencing: June 2022 (sentencingacademy.org.uk) and Scottish Sentencing Council publishes Mental Health and Sentencing literature review (sentencingacademy.org.uk)

We are also planning to deliver a Mental Health and Sentencing Seminar in partnership with the University of York and in conjunction with a number of key speakers in March 2024. Further details will be shared on our Events page.
