The Sentencing Academy is a charitable incorporated organisation created in 2019 to promote more effective sentencing practices and to further professional and public understanding of sentencing.
In line with our development plans and funding we have successfully secured we are pleased to offer a brand new post heading up our new effective sentencing workstream.
About the Role
Led by the data and research and in conjunction with the Directors, you will help create a hub of excellence for effective sentencing, sharing the evidence with practitioners, policy makers and the research community.
This is an exciting new opportunity that will contribute strategically and operationally to the growth of this new workstream and the future sustainability of the organisation.
About You
We are looking for a talented professional with experience of working in a research capacity with knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system and ideally the skill-set to successfully secure and manage research funding.
You will be goal orientated and motivated to help shape and inform change alongside a strong commitment to collaborate and work in partnership with key stakeholders. You will have an interest in the reduction of re-offending and want to positively impact upon what works in the efficiency and effectiveness of sentencing processes and practices.
What We Offer
The post is offered on a full time basis at 37.5 hours per week, initially as a fixed term contract till 1st January 2026 when it is hoped that this will be extended due to longer term additional funding. An attractive package is offered alongside flexible hybrid working arrangements with up to 3 days per week in the office based in London. The salary for a full-time post at this level is between £44,000 - £50,000.
